Biography

A professional bass player for more than 25 years, Lee has worked with many of his musical heroes and has toured the World many times over performing at such legendary venues as Wembley Stadium, The Hollywood Bowl, Hyde Park, O2 Arena and Glastonbury Festival.

He has appeared on many TV and radio shows including The Grammys, The Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, Top of The Pops, Conan O'Brien, Jimmy Fallon, CBS Good Morning, Jimmy Kimmel, NBC Today, The Johnathan Ross Show and Radio One Live Lounge.
 

Lee is the regular touring bassist for pop legends Take That and Gary Barlow, one of many highlights was performing on their record breaking 8 night stint at Wembley Stadium on the Progress tour in 2011.

 

Since 2014 Lee has been the bass player with the mighty Jeff Lynne’s ELO touring extensively throughout the U.K., Europe and the U.S. He appears on both the “Live at Hyde Park” and “Wembley or Bust” live recordings.  
 

Inspired to play the bass in the early 80s by the incredible playing of Chris Squire, Mike Rutherford & Tony Levin, Lee has made a quest to fulfil some lifelong prog rock ambitions.

He has been part of keyboard wizard Rick Wakeman’s English Rock Ensemble since 2000 and remains a devoted member of Rick’s band to this day.

It was at the invitation of Rick Wakeman, Jon Anderson and Trevor Rabin in 2016 that he joined one of his all time favourite bands, progressive rock pioneers YES (ft ARW) for their subsequent tours and live album.

In 2013 he was invited to take on the bass / 12 string / bass pedal role for former Genesis guitarist and prog rock legend Steve Hackett on the Genesis Revisited world tour.

Lee is also the bass player for Canterbury scene legends Caravan.

He was also a member of It Bites from 2008 to 2012 and Three Friends playing the music of Gentle Giant.

 

Lee has had the honour of backing many world famous artists at events such as The Queens Diamond Jubilee 2012, Children In Need Rocks 2009 & 2011, BBC Music Awards, Commonwealth Games, Ryder Cup, and Rugby World Cup.


Artists include: Grace Jones, Annie Lennox, Nile Rodgers & Chic, Smokey Robinson, Shirley Bassey, Kylie Minogue, Gary Barlow, Robbie Williams, The Darkness, Graham Gouldman, Tom Jones, Cliff Richard, Robin Gibb, John Miles, Paloma Faith, Midge Ure, Paulo Nutini, James Morrison, Lily Allen, Leona Lewis, Mika, Jessie J, Cheryl Cole, Will I Am, Paul Heaton & Jackie Abbott, Nicole Scherzinger, Eddi Reader and JLS.

 
As both player and a writer, Lee formed the progressive rock band [Headspace] with Adam Wakeman, Damian Wilson, Pete Rinaldi & Richard Brook in 2010.  They released two albums “I Am Anonymous” (2012) and “All That You Fear Is Gone“ (2016) and supported supported Ozzy Osbourne and Black Label Society for several arena concerts in the UK.
 
Lee is also a successful composer/producer of production music and regularly provides music for several libraries including Audio Network, Boosey & Hawkes, No Sheet Music and Sonoton.
